According to an analysis by the Spanish association for congress centres, APC, the number of events and attendees held during 2007 in the 35 represented centres, included more than 6,600 events with more than 4.5 million attendees.

This information indicates an increase on the previous year, almost a 9% in relation to the number of events and an economic impact of about 1.7 billion Euros for the destinations.

These centres have hosted 639 congresses with the participation of more than 430,000 attendees. Likewise in 2002, a total of 472 conventions has been organised, at which almost 225,000 persons have attended and 1,860 sessions with more than 460,000 participants. This implies a 6% growth in the number of congresses held as well as close to 4% in conventions.
