What is ‘NetZero Events’, the international commitment of the MICE industry? What do ChatGPT and artificial intelligence for events mean? Companies still far from defining sustainability targets in MICE
Given the current paranoia about public reaction to events and meetings seen as frivolous moments of luxury in difficult economic times, many companies are cancelling their events.

Following this trend, the magazine Special Events conducted an online poll, according to which 68% of respondents said cancellations of incentive s and meetings by corporations are “PR ploys to avoid the AIG effect.” The resistance movement is getting organised, with a coalition of industry players including TBA Global, industry associations, Special Events and MeetingsNet publications. This campaign, called “Keep America Meeting”will include online petition that will be presented to politicians to demonstrate the importance of the industry. The industry is also backing the model meeting policies, a set of rules to make sure firms benefitting from the Troubled Asset Relief Program organise their events in a “clean” manner.
