The eighth edition of Intur, held in the Trade Fair Centre of Valladolid from 25th to 28th of November was characterised by the expansion of the offer by the 1,163 exhibitors, the professional profile of the visitors and with a special attention on Intur Business, and by the support demonstrated by the end user of the tourism product.

The final figure for visitors is around 42,000, among which there was a high percentage of visitors from Portugal, both professionals and the general public.

Registered buyers include countries from Argentina to Holland, Great Britain, Italy, Puerto Rico, Poland, France, Germany, etc.

The eighth edition occupied an exhibition floor space of 30,000 square metres distributed in four pavillions. The content of the show included proposals from companues and entities from Spanish autonomous communitites and countries such as Portugal, Germany, Tunisia, Andorra, Morroco, Israle, Great Britain, through the tourism office of Gibraltar, France, Switzerland, Norway, etc.

In parallel to Intur, Intur Business was held on 25th and 26th November whose work sessions had the participation of around 600 companies represented by a thousand professionals.

Intur Business held its third edition. In the 138 work tables, an important number of meetings were made among buyers and companies dedicated to tourism transportation, organisation on congresses, accommodation, travel agencies, services for the tourism industry, specific routes, rural tourism, wholesalers, spa, etc.

Among the activities developed in Intur was the first National Congress on Interior Business Tourism, in which participated representatives from companies in Aragon, Castilla and Leon, Asturias, Andulsia, Madrid, Cantabria, Navarra and La Rioja.

Among the themes debated were the need to create a national federation of rural tourism association with the aim to promote this type of tourism internationally.

The President of the Asociación de Empresarios de Turismo Activo from Castilla and Leon, Miguel Angel Vidal, indicated that in the last years, there has been an increment in demand for this type of activities, even though in Spain, it has not reached the level in countries such as France, England, Italy or Canada, where there exists an important number of followers of active tourism.

The next edition of Intur will be held from the 24th to 27th of November 2005.
