From the 3rd to the 6th of July, the Centre de Convencions Internacional de Barcelona (CCIB) will hold the 11th World Conference on Lung Cancer that expects to receive over 4000 people. The conference, organised by the International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer (IASLC), will analise the latest advances in the investigation of lung cancer.
More than 200 experts from different disciplines –onchology, pneumology, surgeons, researchers, etc.- will debate on the the latest results of both basic and clinical investigation on lung cancer. The subjects to be analised will be, among others, prevention, diagnosis and treatment of the illness, as the new technologies available.
The CCIB, Centre de Convencions Internacional de Barcelona, managed by GL events CCIB SL, opened in November 2004. Since then, 62 events have been held and 65.000 delegates in total have attended the different meetings that have taken place in the center. According to Jesús álvarez, General Manager of GL events CCIB, “the CCIB is one of the few centers worldwide with capacity for 15.000 delegates in the same space. The center has 100.000m2 for events distributed in 45 meeting rooms of different dimensions, which offer the possibility to hold all kinds of events, as an auditorium with 3.200 placesâ€Â.
In the past months the CCIB has held different events such as the Launching of Nissan’s latest models (3000 attendants), the Prizegiving ceremony of the European Cinema Academy (1500 guests), and the IBM Convention, among many others.
