Our country is confirmed as top destination of interest for hosted buyers attending ibtm. More than two- thirds of them consider the country as a key destination for placing their future business.
The popularity of Spain as a MICE destination in Europe is supported by the ICCA ranking. Spain is in second place and has two cities, Madrid and Barcelona, on the top 5. The UK, Germany, and France are the country´s strongest source markets within the EU, while Spain is also gaining traction with North American event planners.
Last year, ibtm world´s decision to extend its commitment to Barcelona as host city was met with overwhelming positivity from both suppliers and buyers. 100% of exhibitors indicated that their attendance is important for your business and 96% said they were likely to go back to the next edition. 56% of buyers who attended last year did so with a budget of over one million dollars.
