The App market is booming. The number of Apps in various stores has soared to over 500,000 and is accelerating at a fast pace. According to Xyologic, the total number of monthly app downloads has now grown to over 4 Billion, and according to IDC, the total number of App downloads will have reached an amazing 182 Billion in 2015!
Smartphone users get more familiar with Apps as they become more useful for solving daily practical problems such as navigation, local discovery, safety, gaming, sport and communication. In professional markets apps are still in an early market phase and are expected to mature in the coming years.
Superevent believes that, like the consumer market, the uptake of professional apps will grow as they start to offer useful functionality when needed e.g. being on a trip, away from the desk.
Superevent has chosen the professional events market as the first entry point to provide useful, fully interactive, event apps. At such events, being away from the desktop, attendees often are struggling with too much paper and not being able to find the people they wanted to connect with.
Superevent believes that future events should be paperless and the key reason for professionals to attend events is to connect and interact with other attendees.
