The fever for communities is unstoppable... Pathable, an on-line community and social network for conferences and events, has won EIBTM´s 2009 WorldWide Technology Watch Award.

We know it: tomorrow´s conference will have an online component, with attendees connecting and sharing information before and after the event. Taking this into account, Pathable´s community allows attendees at conferences and events to communicate with each other, striking up conversations about the event, common interests and relevant topics. They can thus get to know each other before they arrive on site. Pathable helps by making recommendations, aggregating twitter and blog feeds and even telling attendees which of their Twitter friends are registered.

As winners of the 2009 WorldWide Technology Watch, Pathable has won a free stand at the MPI Technology Village – Stand No P145 – giving them the opportunity to present their product at EIBTM.

The panel also recognised three further entries: Vision Tree (mobile technology to provide a range of attendee and event services), Sherpa Solutions (RFID badge with precise location tracking and the ability to bookmark attendees, booths and products) and BusyEvent (a wearable, social networking, expo-lead management, session tracking, and audience response/survey tool)- all based in the US.
