What is ‘NetZero Events’, the international commitment of the MICE industry? What do ChatGPT and artificial intelligence for events mean? Companies still far from defining sustainability targets in MICE
It is assumed that when one decides to invest many millions of euros in building a convention center, one would study some of the needs of their clients.

Well, we do not live in this ideal world. Since that famous hotel which put an enormous chandelier in the plenary hall-blocking the view (easy to remove, fortunately…)- until that another venue that did not build any forklift to reach the meeting rooms, not forgetting in this symbolic space where the catering was unable to work near the cocktail, the sector of events is full of stories of war organizers working in space ill-conceived.

The obvious solution would be to consult the users of these centres-agency events and OPC´s-known for their needs. Well, the international association of OPC´s IAPCO has presented a guide for building and renovating convention and conference centres. A guide to consult before designing a center, but also for existing spaces, a good basis for comparison with the standards defined by these great organizers in terms of work areas, parking, technology, etc… And for the organizer, is a useful guide to fixed points on which to choose their venue.

The guide can be downloaded at www.iapco.org
