MPI selects host cities for its events and opens new office in Singapore

Meeting Professionals International (MPI) has announced its selections for host cities for the 2009 Professional Education Conference (PEC): Atlanta is the host city for the 2009 PEC-North America to be held Feb. 7-10, 2009. Torino, Italy, is the host city for the 2009 PEC-Europe to be held March 1-3, 2009. The 2010 PEC-Europe host city will be Málaga, Spain, and the event is scheduled for Feb. 28-March 2, 2010.
The association will also open next October an office in Singapore. The office is part of MPI’s new vision and global strategy that was revealed in March at the Professional Education Conference-Europe: “The expansion of MPI into Asia-Pacific is a deliberate response to supporting the outstanding meetings and travel growth in that region,†according to the MPI president and CEO, Bruce MacMillan.
MPI’s strategy to use the Singapore office to add the Asian dimension to MPI’s global body of knowledge and industry networks is synergistic with Singapore’s vision to be the key Exchange Capital of Asia, connecting knowledge with business.
