Training courses for event and congress organisers continue to grow. These courses hardly existed in university 8 years ago have now seen a series of specialised programs in this field, due to the growing demand by companies and agencies and also the very high interest that young professionals have for event organisation.

The latest programs: In Barcelona, the Escuela Universitaria de Turismo CETA offers a master in the organisation of congresses, meetings and events for 2007-2008 term. This master is accredited by the Fundación para la Innovación y la Formación from the Universidad of Girona.

And in Madrid, ESDEN offers since November 2007, in collaboration with Prisma Group, a master in communication, organisation of events and protocol. It includes self study and class room sessions.

Other entities that have specific programs in event organisation are the UAB, ISM, IED (in Barcelona), the Universidad Europea of Madrid and the Complutense (in Madrid), Deusto (in Bilbao), among others. These training developments are an undeniable indicator of development and professionalisation of the sector.
