IMEX, the worldwide exhibition for incentive travel, meetings and events, is sponsoring the first Culture Active Tool for the meetings industry. Developed by Richard Lewis Communications, the Culture Active Tool is a web-based, stand alone cross cultural analysis and briefing tool that will be accessible on a global basis.

The tool has two modules: Personal Cultural Profiles (PCPs) enables individual classification and characteristics by completing a cultural questionnaire online; and National Cultural Profiles, which provide cultural roadmaps to approximately 70 countries.

IMEX has joined with the MPI (Meeting Professionals International) Foundation, MPI Foundation Europe, MPI Foundation Canada and MCI –the pan-European association, communications and events management group – to support this initiative. The tool is being launched at MPI’s 2006 Professional Education Conference Europe on 26 to 28 March in Davos, Switzerland.

Ray Bloom, Chairman of IMEX commented, “Multiculturalism is a key area for the industry in this era of global communications. This initiative will enable many of those working in the business to improve their understanding and work effectively with other cultures.”
