What is ‘NetZero Events’, the international commitment of the MICE industry? What do ChatGPT and artificial intelligence for events mean? Companies still far from defining sustainability targets in MICE
Motors are already heating up for one of the most important events in the global portfolio of IBTM: the next edition in Mexico City on September 5 and 6 of IBTM Americas. The giant of meetings & events fairs leaves the USA where it had tried several cities (Baltimore, Nashville, Chicago, etc.) and several formats (from the open fair to the limited to meetings) now merges IBTM Americas with ICOMEX, fair in Mexico City, acquired a few years ago. The ambition: to capitalize the rapid development of this market in the South America and to offer the great North American fair, including the US and the Latin American market. In fact, Reed Travel Exhibitions announces that the North American clients had followed him: to date of today, 75% of the North American exhibitors had confirmed their attendance to the event, indicates David Hidalgo, director of the fair.

So far, 125 exhibitors have exchanged contracts for over 12,750sqm of space at the event. Exhibitors attending from North America include NYC Company, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Toronto, Vancouver and Montreal, who will join domestic exhibitors including Cancun and CDMX, Monterrey and Guadalajara, as well as international exhibitors including Dominican Republic, Peru, Jamaica, Cuba, Portugal, France, Czech Republic, Dubai and Thailand.

Commenting on the event, David Hidalgo, Show Director, IBTM Americas, said: “We’re very excited to welcome our new exhibitors for the first edition of IBTM Americas with its new, broader geographic remit. We’re following a very successful event in 2017 and, with the market in Latin America still very much in the ascendant, we’re confident our new exhibitors will find the event an excellent opportunity to grow their business.

“We have ambitious plans for IBTM Americas and are committed to ensuring it serves not only as a great backdrop against which to do business, but also to inspire our attendees, enabling them to take away tangible learnings and ideas for how they can grow their business. We’ve had an exceptional response to this year’s program which will include a diverse knowledge forum and keynote speakers from organizations including Encore, C2 Montreal, MPI, American Express and the Events Industry Council.”

With Hosted Buyer recruitment well underway, the team is on track to secure a high-profile group of over 1,000 event planners and buyers from across North America, Latin America and Europe.

Attracting over 3,400 visitors each year, the event is built around two days of pre-planned, mutually matched business meetings, with the wider event program including a full schedule of high quality education sessions, covering topics including: Vital Marketing Strategies for a Successful ROI, and a presentation by IACC on their future of meetings research. There will also be two focused networking events to give attendees optimum opportunities to do business.
