Husa incorporates a new hotel in the 22@ district in Barcelona

The Husa Hotels chain has signed an agreement with the Kanda Group to operate a new hotel which the promoting company is building in the 22@ district in Barcelona, the new information and communication technologies area. Husa Hotels will manage the hotel under the agreement, property of the Kanda Group, from autumn 2007 under a leasing contract.

The hotel, which will have a four-star category, will include 150 bedrooms in a constructed surface of 5,800 m2. The building, designed according to the latest architectonic trends, will be based on a project which incorporates the main elements of the facilities in the 22@ district: the commitment to the sustainability criteria, respect for the environment and the introduction of new technologies.

With this new hotel and the Husa Barcelona Mar Hotel opened in 2000, the chain will have two hotels in this area, promoted by the Barcelona town hall as one of the main economic and technological platforms in the city and in Catalonia.

Currently, the Husa Group, through its division Husa Hotels, is positioned among the first 10 hotel chains in the national ranking by number of rooms. For its diversification of business in the different branches of the hotel and F&B sector, the company is one of the first Spanish family hotel groups and has a team of 2,800 professionals.
