The 26th edition of the International Tourism Exhibition, FITUR 2006, which will take place in IFEMA-Madrid from the 25th to the 29th of January, increases its international representation of 43% this year.

The present edition of FITUR will host 843 direct exhibitors (+4.3%) and 12,065 represented companies (+1%), in a total floor space of 86,857.5 sqm (+3.6%). In international representation, the exhibition brings together 366 foreign exhibitors (+7.6%) and increases its foreign institutional representation with 15 countries which will be officialy present at the fair for the first time, such as Ivory Coast, Philippines and Georgia. Other countries such as Antigua and Barbuda, Aruba, Australia, Haiti, Japan, Martinique, or Nepal, among others, will also be present at FITUR.

Europe is the continent with the highest representation in FITUR (29%), followed by America (22%), Asia Pacific (18%), North Africa and the Middle East (13%). The area with the highest increase this year is Asia Pacific, with 22% more exhibitors and 18% more floor space, with the strongest presence of India, Vietnam, Kazajstan, China and Japan. Europe also increases its presence at FITUR (6% in floor space and 7% in direct exhibitors), America grows 2% in surface and 4% in number of stands and Africa 2 and 3%, respectively.
