Fira de Barcelona and AECOC create a new professional show on the traceability of alimentation

Fira de Barcelona strengthens its leadership within the alimentation sector with the creation, in collaboration with the business AECOC, the first show on the traceability of alimentation (Salón de la Trazabilidad). The event will bring the attendees closer to the keys of a process on any commercial product from the origin to the final consumer and offers important opportunities in security materials for alimentation.

The main advantage is that it allows the localisation of a product or a lot of the whole food chain and its withdrawal in case there is any problem within a short time.

As for companies, for those within the food sector as well as in other sector, it provides an improvement in business management which will allow, among other things, to optimise the control of stock, to speed up the delivery and reception and to minimise the risk in case of emergency. This is to say, to improve the management of the warehouses as well as a good part of the logistics and sales that the company operates on a day-to-day basis. In addition, all this will be required as from the 1st of January of 2005, the new European regulation on food security will obligate all the food companies to guarantee the traceability of the products that they produce or sell.

This new event will have two areas, an exhibition which will have the main companies offering their technological, logistical services and consulting specialising in this type of process, and a congress that will bring together the main experts in the material.
