Meeting attendees spent an average of 600 Euros per day, according to a study by Spain Convention Bureau, generating a billing volume of 490 million Euros during 2006.

The study prepared with the data facilitated by the associated cities, reflects that the number of meetings and participants have increased in all types: congresses, conventions and work sessions, indicating a recuperation of the drop experienced in 2004.

51.36% of the meetings organised in 2005 was by public organisations and a 48.64% by private organisations. The meeting rooms in hotels generated a 34.23% and congress centres by 34.02%, were the most used for meetings. More meetings were also organised in Autumn than in Spring and more than half of the meetings held in 2005 (54.04%) had between 50 and 150 participants.

47.6% of cities consulted consider that the number of meetings will grow, 55% considers that the number of participants will maintain. As for the daily expenses, 68.8% thinks that it will maintain and 31.3% considers that it will increase.
