Congress delegates value Gijon as a tourist destination

For the second consecutive year, BCF Consultors has just finished a detailed study on the meetings market in Gijon, a document that shows the close collaboration between Turespaña and the convention bureau to obtain the data first-hand on this sector.
The show shows the high level of satisfaction of the professional visitor on the city and the venue for meetings and reveals other data such as travel, transportation, average expenses and the types of events.
47.8% uses the plane for its travel to the city and 33.1% by car. The average duration of a meeting is 2.89 days even though the stay prolongs till 3.63 days.
The average cost of accommodation is 70.65 Euros against the 143 invested in 2003. The cost of travel raised to 333 Euros against the 200 in 2003. The daily expense budget is 76.86 Euros.
A very positive data is that 93.5% visits the city when in 2003, it was only 77.6%. The valuation of the destination, on a scale of 1 to 10, is 7.70 against that of 7.47 in the previous year.
