June has become the gay month for LGBT (gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender) in São Paulo, and the Association of LGBT Pride Parede has promoted several activities.

One of the most important was the biggest gay pride festival in the world that more than 400.000 tourists enjoyed. This was organised with the support of the São Paulo Tourism Board, an interesting way of positioning itself as a city for gay tourism.
