Perhaps 2009 was an annus horribilis for the events market in Spain, but the country did not lose its appeal at all. Barcelona improves from number 3 to number 2 in the ICCA (International Congress & Convention Association) ranking of cities hosting more international meetings, and Madrid goes from 22 to 13. Spain is third as a country.
