On the 3rd of July, the official reception of the commemoration of the 231 anniversary of the Declaration of Independence of the United States was held in the gardens of the Consulate General. On the 3rd of July, the official reception of the commemoration of the 231 anniversary of the Declaration of Independence of the United States was held in the gardens of the Consulate General. Authorities and representatives of the Catalan society and American residents in Catalonia were invited to the typical american 4th of July celebration.
The Consul General, Todd D. Robinson addressed the guests and was followed by the national hymn sung by American singer Nikol Ann Kollar. The Swing Unlimited Jazz Band entertained the guests while they enjoyed food (including a barbeque with hamburgers and hotdogs) and drinks sponsored by American companies.
