The island’s popularity both as a holiday destination and as a MICE host keeps growing. While the city of Valletta reigned as European Capital of Culture during 2018, Malta recorded an increase of 14.3% in visitor figures and that upward trend is continuing this year with arrivals already showing a rise of 17% when compared to 2019. Malta was selected to host several large-scale events in the beginning of 2020, one of which was the launching of Samsung’s new product range targeting around 3,000 delegates.

 More flights than ever

Connectivity is key in choosing a MICE destination and Malta has never been so easily accessible. The national airline Air Malta, which celebrated its 45th anniversary last year, has been operating 7% more flights during the winter 2019/2020 season with increased frequencies to London, Brussels and Palermo. After the recent introduction of direct flights to Cairo, Air Malta announced it will add Lyon and Prague to its list of 35 scheduled destinations to major European airports.

Hilton Malta Conference Centre

Situated in the heart of the Portomaso waterfront in St Julian’s Bay the Hilton Malta Conference Centre was designed with business in mind. The Centre features a variety of well-equipped Meeting Rooms, including the Spinola Suite and the Grand Master’s Suite, which can accommodate up to 1,330 delegates. 

InterContinental Arena Conference Centre

The InterContinental Arena Conference Centre offers a space of 3600 square meters in the main Arena and a total of 6000 square meters overall. Having hosted events of up to 1700 delegates, this center provides a flexible and adaptable area which can be set up according to the needs of the event organiser. 

The Malta Fairs and Conventions Centre

The Malta Fairs and Convention Centre (MFCC) is Malta’s largest multipurpose structure. Found in the centre of the island (Ta’ Qali), MFCC offers indoor and outdoor space hosting concerts, exhibitions, conferences and more. The high-ceiling tension fabric structure has an area of 7,000 sqm in total and can be adapted according to any need.
