One of the most important international tennis tournaments is just around the corner! The new edition of the U.S. Open will be held between August 26 and September 8. Due to the proximity to the start of the event, the competition has prepared a whole week of activities open to the public that revolve around tennis and the tournament: U.S. Open Fan Week. 7 days to give fans the opportunity to enjoy tennis in a different way.

Between August 19 and 25 U.S. Open, together with the U.S. Tennis Association (USTA), have organized a whole series of activities for their fans, mostly free of charge, where tennis becomes the main point of interest. U.S. Open Fan Week 2024 could not miss friendly tournaments such as the Legends of the Open, which featured players who have been in the top of the competition in previous editions such as Garbine Muguruza or James Blake. Another example is Stars of the Open, a tennis exhibition that will include players such as Venus Williams or Carlos Alcaraz and where the funds raised through ticket sales will be donated to the USTA Foundation.

In addition to being an event that allows fans to see their favorite tennis players play live and in a more relaxed atmosphere than the competition itself, U.S. Open Fan Week also brings players closer to their fans on a more personal level. The Fountain Plaza Stage becomes a place where each day the players and their coaches make surprise appearances, sign autographs and answer questions from fans.

An event for all audiences and with a strong musical charge

During U.S. Open Fan Week 2024, different activities have been and will be held for all audiences. Spaces where children can enjoy the services of face-painting, balloon twisting or learn to play tennis will make the little ones approach the sport in a fun way. And to make the event a truly inclusive celebration, the program also includes a tennis court “for all abilities”. Here, people with disabilities or in wheelchairs can practice the sport all day long, adapting it to their needs.

In addition, U.S. Open Fan Week 2024 has created a program with experiences that revolve around music. To kick off the fan week, a country music concert featuring singer Dierks Bentley was held on Sunday, April 18. On Friday, a big night party will take place: the U.S. Open Block Party; and throughout the week there have been different dance and music shows, such as the Bollywood and Bhangra Dance Performance.

Brands and sport, a winning combination

You already know that sports and the values that are communicated through it (ambition, companionship, hard work…) are a great attraction for brands, so it’s no wonder that they wanted to be present at this event through sponsorships and activations. This is the case of Heineken, which has created for the occasion Heineken Happy Hour: a space with music within the U.S. Open Fan Week where they can enjoy their beers.

Another brand that has joined the U.S. Open Fan Week 2024 is Dobel Tequila, which today will celebrate Flavors of the Open: a culinary event where attendees will taste dishes from great chefs such as Simon Kim or Pat LaFrieda, and in which some of the tennis players of the competition will be present, such as Gabriela Sabatini or Bianca Andreescu. In addition, some of the attendees to this gastronomic space will have the opportunity to play against the tennis players during the day.
