The EIBTM 2008 Welcome Party was on the beach

For the third time, apple tree communications organised the EIBTM Welcome Party, which takes place on the first day of the trade show.
The event, which gathered more than 2.000 guests, aimed to re-create a beach environment. The whole venue was decorated in that way (with sand, hamacs and shades), with eight actors dressed as sea creatures and other as beach guards to control the event access.
The food was also inspired from the sea world: paella, fideua, patatas bravas, cold bear, red wine… all typical dished of the “chiringuitos”, these simple beach bars typically Spanish. “We wanted to show the beach as one of the most important assets of Barcelona and also create an informal gathering of people tomaximise networking” explained Airy Garrigosa, the Barcelona Convention Bureau director and the promoter of this party.
