Green Event: I Fiesta de la Sostenibilidad and Agenda 21 in Mallorca

Designed following the principles of reuse, reduce and recycle, R Festival included an exhibition of sustainable organisations, musical performances, visits to the Mobile Unit LA21-a truck with a report on Agenda item 21 – and the possibility of a trip up on a balloon. The event brought together about 900 people in the Parc de les Estacions of Palma. A visit by the authorities gave recognition among the cities and lots of material to schools and presented the new season of Agenda 21.

During the party, the Ecobar offered local products and organic farming, served on reusable china and avoiding individual containers and canned foods. Other actions to achieve the lowest possible environmental impact was: choosing a venue accessible by public transportation, printing banners instead of pvc material and a design that will be reused, recycled materials playground, signs made from recycled carpet. Internet was used for communication and minimum A4-format was printed to avoid waste.
