During one week, Barcelona has been under the stethoscope of the 32,000 cardiologists who participated in the largest congress of the European Society Congress of Cardiology, organised by the European Society of Cardiology. It is the largest medical meeting in the world.
During the conference, 30 meeting rooms featured simultaneous sessions for 10 hours each day, with a total of 4,000 presentations.
According to the president of the Catalan Society of Cardiology and the conference organizer, Xavier Bosch, “this is the Congress that all cardiologists expect.” After last year edition in Munich the expectations for this meeting was to increase the number of participants, up to 2,000 and 3,00o more than 2008.
