SITE, the industry association, presented in a recent meeting a few points to reflect on why transparent prices are now vital:
– A lot of information is available online about the destination and its specifics that may or may not be suitable for their programme
– Procurements departments require multiple bids form suppliers for the best price
– Many industry professionals combine the experiences of being the planner and the supplier and therefore are familiar with different pricing models.
– The public and shareholders can perceive meetings as an unnecessary expense that only provides the attendees with a paid holiday.
