The Grimaldi Forum celebrates 10th anniversary with a planned renovation

This 70.000m2 venue, made of metal and glass and following a modern design, stands just above reclaimed land conquered from the sea, and has had a clear green positioning. It was one of the first sites achieving ISO 14001 certification in Europe.

The venue, which offers capacity for 2.500 people, celebrates this anniversary by announcing investments in green technical equipment, a renovation of its website, and a project to renovate its facilities with a focus on lighting, warmth, among others. It also recently launched Winter Experience, a package that offers meeting planners very special offers offseason, to get past certain clichés about Monaco as an expensive destination.

The green values of the center include:

– Being in the centre of a city of 2km2, which makes it possible to walk to just about anywhere within the city

– A green building, with natural insulation. Located just above the sea, it uses sea water as a natural source of cooling for air conditioning.

– A thermal management system that optimises the lighting and temperature control.

– Purchases are made from environmentally certified suppliers, and many of its suppliers have signed the site´s environmental commitment.

– And of course, paper, ink and so on, are recycled.

The centre offers three products for green events:

– The “Paperless Meeting”, whereby the customer agrees to limit the use of paper: electronic invitations, requests for material from the website of the Grimaldi Forum, use of the refresh stations, from which delegates can download conference documents rather than having to carry heavy catalogues and documentation home.

– Program “carbon neutral”, whereby the organiser can offset the CO2 impact of their event.
