JMT: a logistical challenge for an international event

The main venue was the whole ExCel London. For special presentations, the company choose the St. Pancras and Rosewood hotels and for the CEO conference, it selected the 36th floor of the Sky Garden.A logistical challenge for JMT, which required furniture from four countries and involved the work of six companies of the JMT Group.
More information about the logistical challenge: 25 trailers were needed to transport the 13,350 chairs. Moreover, according to customer specifications, JMT manufactured 450 seats. Also 1,800 tables were used as well as 800 stools and more than 200 sofas.
Each type of furniture was designed according to the decoration of each space. HP wanted minimalist environments in order to facilitate interaction between participants. For example, they wanted white colour that allows concentration and networking, for the ExCel part of the event. In the Rosewood hotel, the option was a dark color in keeping with the hotel decoration -JMT manufactured desks and chairs in dark tones -. Classic armchairs upholstered in fabric were used in the Sky Garden and ´office style´ in black color the St Pancras Hotel.
A team of 50 people, led by three project managers and 10 team leaders handled the project. Tear down was completed in 40 hours. The company also had to perform many changes, such as changing six different formats in a meeting room in one day.
