Vienna gives its throne to Paris, which used to be at the top but always one step behind the Austrian capital.
In 2013 the French capital got 204 events, which puts it ahead of Madrid ( 186 ) and Vienna ( 182 ) , closely followed by Barcelona (179). Some really raced first posts in which we see that each conference has achieved , and much to move up one place in the rankings.
Madrid ends its rapid rise in the rankings. The city only hosted 65 conferences in 2008 and now reaches 186. At position 22 in 2009, rose to 13 in 2010, 6 in 2011 and 4 in 2012, and this year, silver medal.
As for Barcelona, ??confirms once again its blockbuster status in this market, having consistently been in the top of the world.
At country level, the movements are smaller, the top three are awarded (in order) to the United States, Germany and Spain ; although Germany reduces distances increasing its number of conferences. If in the previous edition were 184 congreesses the gap to the United States , in 2013 it has only been 107.
In short, the pulse of a sector which is growing strong, holding over 11,685 congresses last year and that does nothing to keep the positive trend that has marked the association market in the 50 years of the association. Gained more than 4 % of the number counted by ICCA international conferences this year.
