As the cold weather sets in, there are a number of aspects that you need to keep in mind as organise an event at this time of the year. Being in the cold is not a pleasant experience and tiny details may ruin the experience in the event. Here are some tips for attendees feel comfortable.

Venue
For a small group meeting, why not a venue with a fireplace? Besides having a relaxing effect, it gives a warm and cosy ambience. For a larger group, place heaters or large candles at various areas. Another visual option is to install plasma screens that simulate chimneys.

Hot beverages
Guests just came from a freezing cold exterior, a warm drink can be welcoming. Replace the typical cava or champagne with a punch, spicy wine, or apple and apricot cider to warm up the guests.

You can also install a coffee and tea bar with favours from different parts of the world as a complement to the typical cocktail bar.

Caloric lunch
Salads are for the summer. Stews are for the colder weather and there is a huge variety to choose from. Vary the presentation of these dishes, for example, serve in small oriental bowls. Serve also dishes with spices (that facilitate digestion,3), cheeses, sausages, hot breads, seasonal vegetables are ideal for the cold. Worth mentioning are desserts and sweets, in winter are much more tempting.

Decoration and ambience
This is the ideal time to decorate with candles and candlesticks because they provide warmth and create intimate and welcoming surroundings. There is a wide variety of sizes, materials and even fragrances. The same with cloths, gauzes, curtains, carpets and cushions. Dispensable in summer, essential in winter.

Warm colors(red, yellow, scarlet, etc.)are ideal for decoration at this time of the year. The incandescent light gives a warmer orange tone while the fluorescent lights reproduce colder, brighter light.

Logistics
In winter, apart from wearing more layers of clothing, we also carry more accessories. Ensure that the cloakroom service is wide enough for the number of guests invited, and with enough staff to attend to them.

When smoking is to be done outside, make sure you provide a roofed area, perfumed ashtrays and heaters for the smokers.
