The crown jewel of its event offer is undoubtedly the Congress Palace and Auditorium Evolution Forum, opened in 2012, offering 35.000m2 spread over six floors, in the heart of the city and a very transparent architecture. It has a conference room for almost 500 pax; an auditorium for 1,371 pax; an exhibition hall with 1.000m2 and multiple conference rooms.
Another of the bonuses offered by the city is the availability of bright spaces for historical event . Stately palaces, convents and rehabilitated spectacular gardens are available to be rented. This allows events such as the gala dinner at a recent conference , which was located in a transparent tent in the Plaza Mayor de Lerma. Indeed, one of the most attractive possibilities proposed by the Convention Bureau is organizing a gala dinner in a huge tent on the Plaza de la Catedral de Burgos at the foot of the impressive Gothic building, with special lighting.
Burgos, green city
Its small size makes it convenient to explore on foot during the conference, as most attractions are concentrated in the city center. This retains the medieval capital of the historic center full of charming places in the pedestrian streets around. In addition, through its streets and its 114km around the provincial geography, the Camino de Santiago, which combines culture and nature.
Culinary experiences
Do not let go of its cuisine. Burgos has been Spanish Capital of Gastronomy in 2013, a tribute to a culinary tradition that draws on the grounds that have left the Arab, Jewish and Christian. Classics such as roast lamb in a wood oven or ´morcilla de Burgos´ (blood sausage), which can be tasted in restaurants as the centenary Restaurante Casa Ojeda, but also innovative proposals, such as the one coming from the hand of the ´Top Chef´ finalist Antonio Arrabal coexist in city??.
Its wines with Designation of Origin Ribera del Duero, and the youngest Ribera del Arlanza, make it a wine tourism destination, with activities such as winery tours and tastings of wines. Many of these spaces are also available for events. The ´WineStarAwards´, the ´wine Oscars´, have honored a couple of years ago the DO Ribera de Duero wine region as the best in the world.
