What is ‘NetZero Events’, the international commitment of the MICE industry? What do ChatGPT and artificial intelligence for events mean? Companies still far from defining sustainability targets in MICE
Ever been surprised by a drone flying over you during an event? Get ready... This tool is great to capture pictures and videos in concerts, sports events... and why not in corporate events? Recently, a very serious event such as a conference of accountants (AECE), organized by Ediciones NC in the Palau de Congressos de Catalunya, fell into the drones madness. Let us explain some things about this new

The AECE objective was to strengthen its position in the sector, so the association organized an open day for professionals in accounting and tax. They wanted to give an innovative and surprising touch to the event and make it clear that the association is advanced in all respects, not only in professional content, but also in their events. They brought in a drone that overflew the room surprising the attendees.

If you plan to use a drone in your next event, there are some things you should keep in mind. In Spain there is a regulation about the use of drones, but it is better to be advised by a specialized company in terms of security. Ediciones NC did that and when the Palau de Congressos requested documentation certifying the safety, they had everything ready. What will you ask? The technical characteristics of the model that will fly: weight, dimensions, type of cameras, navigation system, batteries etc. In addition, the organizer had a certificate from the State Aviation Safety Agency.

You will also need a large space with high ceilings (if you do it in a closed place). The drones take off vertically and, on the one hand, need space to take off, on the other hand, cannot fly very low.

For this particular event, the drone was customized with the name and logo of the association. The day before the event, they made flight tests inside the meeting room and the day of the event the drone flew from the amphitheater to the auditorium and landed on the stage.

Can you imagine a drone in the presentation of a new product coming on with it to the stage? In the case of AECE nothing was transported but their experience is so positive that they are thinking to repeat it in future events.
