IBTM World’s Forum for Advocacy agenda announced Istanbul to host EMEC 2025 IBTM World attracts new exhibitors from around the world to expand the show’s potential
MPI announces agenda for the 35th annual conference which will take place from 3-5 March at the European Convention Centre in Luxembourg. EMEC brings together the meetings and events community each year around three key principles of event design: that the event is designed by Europeans for Europeans, that it becomes an incubator for ideas and that it ensures that local influence is incorporated into overall experiences. This edition will also discuss IAG, sustainability, engagement, venue choice and community building, among other topics.

The opening plenary session of MPI will feature former Danish MP Özlem Cekic, current Secretary General of Bridge Builders, an organisation dedicated to cultivating dialogue that promotes cultural understanding. On the second day, entrepreneur Michael Jackson will talk about event design and attendee engagement in a new era of events. The following morning, Sandro Forte will talk about how attendees can leverage their personal brand to stay competitive. The final closing plenary session will be led by the Event Design Collective, with research uncovering the 10 reasons why events fail. Event participants will be able to create their own Event Design Competency Diagnostic Report.

The programme will also offer 26 educational sessions and four hands-on Learning Journey Experiences, exclusive to EMEC participants. In this edition they will be able to choose between a visit to Luxembourg Air Rescue, behind-the-scenes access with Song Division to a historic cinema, an exploration of hospitality and tourism of the future at the Lëtzebuerg City Museum or a sensory culinary experience at the Novotel Luxembourg Kirchberg. Each learning journey will connect with an area of professional development.

The EMEC will open on Sunday 3 March with a reception at MUDAM, the Museum of Contemporary Art Luxembourg, and on the 4th, the Rendezvous will take place at the Big Beer Company.

The hosted buyers programme will welcome buyers from the US, Canada and the EMEA region, and will have a boutique-style format, with one-to-one meetings. Buyers will arrive earlier at the conference and will enjoy their own social programme with local attractions such as a Rallye Gourmand Tour of Luxembourg.

“EMEC is an important event for the European event community, providing a platform for event professionals to exchange ideas, learn from each other and make meaningful connections. We look forward to welcoming attendees from around the world and showcasing Luxembourg as a major European centre for business and innovation that has gained a global reputation for its sustainability, diversity and unique hospitality,” says Eric Thill, Minister Delegate for Tourism and Minister of Culture in the Government of Luxembourg.
