CCIB awarded as best technologically equipped convention centre

The Barcelona International Convention Centre, CCIB, has been awarded with the technological innovation prize in the first edition of the Innovation Awards by the International Association of Conference Halls (AIPC) during its general assembly in Graz (Austria), from 15th to 18th July. Among the candidates were fifteen other conference halls from Calgary, Monaco, Toronto Kyoto, Phoenix and Washington, among others.
“We anticipate the needs of our clients, equipping the centre with a powerful wireless telecommunication system for voice and data transmission, which only large companies have. Never before was there a wi-fi network capable to connect 2,500 internet users in a 100,000 m2 convention centre”, according to the General Manager of GL Events CCIB, Jesus álvarez.
