Turismo Valencia has recently published a survey, conducted to 60% of hotels in Valencia, which indicates that Valencia continues to grow as both a national and international tourism destination. According to the survey, in the first two months of 2006 the city has received over 201,000 travellers, an increase of 25% in relation to the same period in 2005.

Hotel occupation in Valencia registered 377,000 overnight stays in the first two months of 2006, a 24% increase in relation to the January-February period last year, which registered 300,000 night stays.

According to Jose Salinas, General Director of Turismo Valencia, the year-on-year average hotel occupancy in January and February 2006 has increased 8.12% in relation to 2005. The average of hotel occupancy in the city to date is 60%, three-star hotels reaching an average occupancy of 77% and four-star hotels 67%.

The largest events programmed in Valencia for this year are the World Family Meeting and the celebration of the 10th to 12th Acts of the 32nd Americaâ
