Hilton opens in Barcelona its second hotel in Spain, destined to business tourism

Hilton will be opening in Barcelona its second hotel in the Iberian Peninsula on June 1st, the Hilton Diagonal Mar Barcelona, which will be devoted primarily to business tourism, even though the director, Primo Muñoz, has described 2004 as a “difficult year”, and very much below the hotel’s expectations.
Muñoz explained that the new five-star Hilton Diagonal Mar will be located in a new part of the city, next to The Forum 2004 building and the city’s Convention Centre. “This area is the 21st century Barcelona”, said Muñoz, who considers the Iberian Peninsula as a “priority zone” for the group. Muñoz described 2004 as a “difficult year”, in which the Barcelona Hilton closed “the year under expectations compared to other years”, although Muñoz considers it is only a “temporary bad patch” that all dynamic cities go through.
