Eager to host a major tennis tournament and the Olympics, Madrid made clear its commitment to sports as a way to position the city for tourism. And it is now going for more ... gastronomic tourism is the new angle Madrid is positioning itself on. To begin this race, it will host the first European Tourism and Gastronomy Congress.

While Spain seeks its positioning in the culinary tourism, Madrid will make it easier by receiving, from 24th to 26th of April, this congress organised by the tourism authority Turespaña and the Real Academia de Gastronomía Española. The meeting will be attended by experts from the 27 member countries of the European Union
