For two days, the Palacio de Congresos de Ibiza hosted the II Congressof Virtual Worlds in Ibiza, focused on Metaversus, 3D Web and social networks. The event shows the challenge of Ibiza in its use of new technologies for tourism promotion.

It was organised by the Council of Ibiza and Virtual Mind, in collaboration with Fundación IBIT and the  Conselleria d´Economia, Hisenda i Innovación del Govern Balear. Once again the Balearic Island is done with the experts on new technologies meeting, where Juan Gascón of AETIC and Thomas Kasem IBM, among others participated. For Mari Pepa, Councilor of Tourism Promotion, “Ibiza keeps its bid on using new technologies for tourism promotion”. In fact, Ibiza is the first destination of the world that has a tourism office in Second Life that can be accessed through the official tourism www.ibiza.travel portal.
