What is ‘NetZero Events’, the international commitment of the MICE industry? What do ChatGPT and artificial intelligence for events mean? Companies still far from defining sustainability targets in MICE
Companies usually have the habit to optimize their travel budget, but the management of their events is a huge chaos ... More or less, this is conclusion drawn from the latest StarCite report, a technology and management company for events.

While meetings and events represent 35% of the travel budget according to the report, less then the half of the companies have a meeting policy established, in contrast with 95% who do have a travel policy.

The study also reveals a gap of a management of supplier´s program in the meetings area. For example, 71% of the companies prefer to hire their suppliers separately when they plan a trip, only 5% do it together (air, hotel, rental car). And 32% do not have favourite´s suppliers.

At the same time, nearly half of companies fail to integrate the information they have for travelling planning with data from the meetings. As a result, they are loosing the opportunity to save by not carrying out a proper management of suppliers.

These are the saving recommendations from the study:

– Linking data from travel and meetings management
– Identify synergies between the corporate travels and meeting schedules
– Establish a policy for managing meetings to address the challenges presented by the meetings
