What is ‘NetZero Events’, the international commitment of the MICE industry? What do ChatGPT and artificial intelligence for events mean? Companies still far from defining sustainability targets in MICE
There will not be the mega ISE that we expected in Barcelona at the beginning of June, but the great audiovisual world fair has found an interesting intermediate solution, which allows to maintain its face-to-face dimension and adapt to a world in which travel is still complicated: they will organize four face-to-face events in different European countries, with the option of remote connection (of course…), thus connecting its large markets.

ISE and its co-owners AVIXA and CEDIA have announced ISE Live & Online, a series of local events in Barcelona, Munich, Amsterdam and London that will be completed with a digital offer powered by CISCO. With the uncertainty surrounding the pandemic and travel restrictions, this new format aims to take the place of the traditional format of a large face-to-face fair.

ISE CEO Mike Blackman explained: “We have made this decision after extensive discussions with our exhibitors over the past few months, and most especially the past 10 days. There has always been a clear demand for a four-day ISE in Barcelona in June. However, uncertainty continues around the pandemic and international travel, which means that we cannot carry out ISE 2021 in its traditional format. Our exhibitors have made it clear that there is a desire to bring the industry together, but on a local level. As a result of this, we are targeting Europe’s key markets in the audiovisual sector and our aim is to offer a quality audience that wants to meet with potential suppliers, existing clients and network with their peers ”.

Barcelona thus maintains a face-to-face ISE, but obviously in a very reduced version since it is mainly aimed at events in southern Europe. The events will be held on June 1-2 (Fira de Barcelona), June 8-9 (MAC Forum in Munich), June 15-16 (RAI Amsterdam), June 23-24 (Evolution Battersea in London).

Blackman also highlights “the rich and exciting digital offering” of this new format. Additionally, “we will keep on with our popular RISE Spotlight program throughout the year. By working with the industry in this way, we will provide significant opportunities for sales teams to meet with their customers, for people to experiment with product innovations and, of course, for networking. ”

The idea is to bring the entire industry together again, in Barcelona, in February 2022.
